SCION Connectivity

Your setups at cloudscale can participate directly in SCION ISDs such as the SSFN or SSHN (in the financial and healthcare sectors, respectively).

SCION – the name is derived from "Scalability, Control, and Isolation On Next-generation networks" – is a routing protocol for networks with higher requirements in terms of reliability and security of their communication infrastructure. In completely separate "isolation domains" (ISDs), participants can rely on the fact that they only receive data traffic from legitimate, verified sources.

Existing examples include the SCION-based "Secure Swiss Finance Network" (SSFN), which replaced SIX's "Finance IPNet", and the "Secure Swiss Health Network" (SSHN) in the healthcare sector.

In collaboration with Cyberlink AG, cloudscale allows you to connect your cloud setups directly to SCION-based networks, enabling you to communicate with other participants in regulated industries.

Setting up SCION connectivity is not available via self-service. If you are interested, please contact our support.
